For March's play reading, we're delving into Ghosts of the Street by Wayne Ronné.
The evening will include a table read of the play by actors, followed by a discussion of the work. The discussion will be led by Melanie O'Connor Horn and a panel of experts. Input from the audience is most welcome!
About the play
How often do we walk past the homeless? We go on with our lives without a second thought as to how they live daily. Some of them beg, some steal and many just look to survive. Our story takes place under the Clovelly Bridge, where the Silvermine River leads into the waters of Fish Hoek Beach. Here we find Cliffy, a school teacher, Naomi, an ex-prostitute, and Andre, a young runaway. They live and survive together in some kind of family life.
