Somebody Else’s Grandmother

For November's play reading, we're delving into Somebody Else’s Grandmother by Digby Young.

The evening will include a table read of the play by actors, followed by a discussion of the work. The discussion will be led by the host for the evening and a panel of experts. Input from the audience is most welcome!

About the play

In the early Seventies, an elderly woman wanders the car-park along Muizenberg's wind-swept beach, clutching the remains of her picnic. She has been forgotten - again - but a kindly young couple gives her a lift home. She enjoys a few hours of companionship, while the couple glimpses the heartbreak of parents isolated by increasing emigration.
